Technical SEO
Make your website easier to use and easier for search engines to access. We help you understand which technical issues need attention and work with your developer, or a development partner we bring in, to get the right changes made.

Not every technical issue deserves your attention
An SEO tool can give you hundreds of warnings. Deciding which ones are worth fixing takes a closer look at your website and what you need it to do.
A service page that search engines can’t access needs attention. So does a slow mobile page that makes it difficult to send an enquiry. Other warnings may have little bearing on how your site performs.
We look at the evidence, explain the likely impact and help you prioritize the work. You should understand why a change is worth making before spending time and money on it.
What we can help with
The work depends on your website. These are the areas we review and help improve where they’re relevant to the problem we’re solving.
Crawlability and indexing
Your important pages need to be accessible to search engine crawlers and eligible to appear in search results. We investigate what might be getting in the way, using Google Search Console alongside a crawl of your site.
That can include checking robots.txt, an unintended noindex tag, your XML sitemap and whether content loaded through JavaScript is available to Google. The aim is to give the pages you want people to find a clear route into search.
Website structure and internal links
As a website grows, useful pages can become difficult to reach. A service might be missing from the navigation, or an article might have no internal links pointing to it.
We review your website architecture and how pages connect, including navigation, category pages and links within the content. A more logical structure helps visitors find their next step and helps search engines discover related pages.
Broken links, redirects and duplicate pages
Old URLs, broken links and multiple versions of the same page can leave visitors at a dead end and send inconsistent signals to search engines.
We check where links lead, how redirects behave and whether duplicate content needs attention. Depending on the situation, the answer might be updating a link, redirecting an old URL to a relevant replacement, or using a canonical tag to indicate the preferred version of a page.
Page speed and mobile usability
A page should be comfortable to read and use on a phone as well as a larger screen. Slow loading, unresponsive buttons and unexpected layout shifts can make simple tasks frustrating.
We review page speed and Core Web Vitals, which measure loading performance, responsiveness and visual stability. Alongside test results, we use real visitor performance data where it’s available and check the mobile experience itself. That helps identify useful changes to image files, scripts or page templates.
Structured data and technical consistency
Structured data, also called schema markup, gives search engines more explicit information about a page’s content. We check whether the markup is appropriate, accurate and consistent with what visitors can see.
We also review relevant technical settings, such as HTTPS and conflicting signals between page versions. The work is scoped around your site’s needs, with recommendations your developer can act on.
From finding the issue to checking the fix
Understand what’s happening
We start with your website and the concern that brought you here. You might have an audit already, a problem in Search Console, or pages that have stopped performing as expected. We use the information you have and investigate what’s needed to decide the next step.
Agree on the priorities
We explain the findings in plain language and set out the recommended changes, their purpose and what needs to happen first. We agree on the scope before implementation begins, including who will do the development work.
Work with the right developer
If you already have a developer, we can work with them on the SEO requirements and help resolve questions during implementation. If you need development support, we can bring in a development partner and coordinate the work.
You work with us on the SEO decisions. The responsibilities and costs for implementation are agreed as part of the project.
Check the changes
Once the agreed changes are in place, we check the affected pages and settings to see whether the original issue has been addressed. Where the result depends on Google recrawling or processing your pages, we explain what we can verify now and what needs follow-up.
Start with the problem you have
You don’t need to arrive with a complete technical SEO checklist. Send us your website and tell us what you’ve noticed. If you have an existing report or developer notes, those are useful too.
The work can focus on a specific issue or a wider set of improvements. We’ll quote based on the investigation and implementation support needed, with development costs made clear before work begins. VAT is added to quoted prices.
If you’re unsure whether the main problem is technical, an SEO audit can help establish the priorities across your website first.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a technical SEO audit before we can start?
Not necessarily. If you already have an audit or a specific issue to investigate, we can start there. We’ll check whether the available information is enough to recommend a fix. If more investigation would help, we’ll explain what’s needed and agree on it with you first. You won’t automatically need to buy another full audit.
Can you work with my existing developer?
Yes. We can explain the SEO requirements, discuss implementation options with your developer and check the agreed changes afterwards. If you don’t have a developer, we can arrange support through a development partner.
What access will you need?
Your website address and a short description of the problem are enough for an initial conversation. Google Search Console access is often useful for understanding indexing and performance. If the work needs access to your website or hosting, we’ll agree on that once the scope is clear.
Will technical SEO improve my rankings?
Fixing a technical problem can remove a barrier to visibility, particularly if important pages couldn’t be accessed or indexed. Rankings also depend on your content, its relevance and the competition. We’ll explain what each proposed fix is intended to achieve, without promising a particular position in search results.
Do I need a perfect page speed score?
A perfect score is rarely a useful project goal on its own. We focus on the loading and usability problems people actually experience, the pages that matter to your business and whether the likely benefit justifies the work.
Let’s work out what needs fixing
Send us your website and a few words about what’s happening. We’ll help you decide where to start and whether you need technical work, a broader review or support for your developer.
